Welcome to the West Midlands Golf League
The West Midland Golf League comprises 32 Golf Clubs located in the West Midlands Area.
The 32 clubs are divided into 4 zones of eight clubs (decided on a geographical location basis).
The League is a very competitive golf league with clubs fielding teams of
8 players. 4 players in each team to play off handicap 4 to 9 and the remaining 4 players in each team to play off handicap 10 to 15. The team is selected in pairs, one player from each handicap category.
During the season April to August each year the clubs in each individual zone play each other on a home and away basis.
The winners and runners up of each zone go forward into a knockout competition (the draw is pre-determined each year at the Annual General Meeting).
The final is played on a neutral course over 18 holes. The winning club is declared as the West Midland Golf League Champions of that particular year.
Each season the 32 clubs get together and compete for the Davenport Salver. This is a one off competition with each club providing a team and playing in a fourball better ball format. The collective scores of the teams are added together to give the overall team score. The team with the best score on the day wins the Davenport Salver.
